Does legal AI actually reduce human error, or does it concentrate it? A lawyer/attorney who doesn't think will misuse AI. But would they have done meaningfully better before? The difference: before, an error stayed local. With an AI playbook deployed across thousands of contracts (including with leading solutions like Harvey, Legora or Spellbook for instance), a design flaw no longer hits one deal. It hits your entire legal infrastructure at once. Cybersecurity has documented this mechanism for years. So has finance (ISDA, 2008). Law is not immune. I published a full analysis of this in The Legal Technologist including concrete conditions for standardisation to remain governed, not just inherited. Link in the comments. Would love to hear your take — especially from in-house counsel, outside counsels and CTOs.
