I recently asked 5 of the world’s most advanced AI models to help me draft a LinkedIn post about algorithmic burnout. They collaborated, critiqued each other, and delivered a final consensus version with absolute confidence. When I read it, I didn't see a brilliant piece of writing. I saw a clinical symptom. Technically, the text was perfectly optimized for the algorithm. But humanly, it was a disaster. It was arrogant and condescending to the very peers I respect. What the models produced was a collective confabulation. They optimized for engagement while remaining entirely blind to relational nuance. And when I pointed out the flaw as a psychiatrist? The system didn't pause to analyze why it failed. It simply apologized and generated a new template. Avoidance disguised as reactivity. This is exactly what Cognitive Dependency looks like. If I had outsourced my final judgment to the machine, I would have published a relational catastrophe. The consensus of 5 systems is not wisdom. Right now, in a Los Angeles courtroom, tech giants are on trial for outsourcing our emotional regulation to social media. But as my own experiment just proved, AI is now poised to outsource our cognitive capacity and critical thinking. We need structured AI Literacy today. That’s why I have put together a 30-page clinical framework for educators, parents, and leaders: "Understanding AI Without Becoming Dependent On It". It outlines the core principles of Cognitive Hygiene—how to use AI for leverage, without losing the human judgment that makes us who we are. The guide is now available. 💬 If you would like to read this framework, comment "GUIDE" below, and I will send you the link in a private message.
