Do you know the real difference between introverts and extroverts? It’s energy. Not confidence. Not capability. Not leadership potential. Energy. It’s about how you gain it and how you lose it. Introverts tend to lose energy in social situations because we’re not just listening to what’s being said… We’re absorbing tone. Facial expressions. Body language. Group dynamics. Unspoken expectations. We process information deeply, which means our brains are working overtime in environments that might look completely “normal” to everyone else. Add in noise, multiple conversations, or fast-paced discussion, and it’s no wonder large meetings or networking events can feel exhausting rather than energising. Extroverts, on the other hand, tend to gain energy from interaction. Thinking out loud. Bouncing ideas around. Engaging in discussion. Their nervous systems are stimulated by social engagement, whereas introverts often need quiet to reset afterwards. And this is where it really matters at work! So many introverted professionals assume their tiredness in busy environments means: ❌ They’re not confident enough ❌ They’re not “senior” enough ❌ They’re not leadership material When in reality… They’re just managing their energy differently. Tu bosses dur. Tu t’investis. Mais on t’oublie. Combien de fois ça t’est arrivé ? Et si ce n’était pas toi le problème ? Tu es compétent. Tu es impliqué. Tu poses une idée. Silence. Deux minutes plus tard, ton collègue la reformule… et c’est lui qu’on applaudit. En entretien, on te félicite… mais on ne te promeut pas. 👉 On valorise celui qui parle fort. 👉 Pas celui qui pense juste. 👉 On promeut celui qui brille. Et toi, tu continues à attendre que “ton tour” vienne. Le vrai problème ? La visibilité est plus récompensée que la compétence. Pourtant comme le dit Susan Cain : “Il n’y a aucune corrélation entre être le meilleur orateur… et avoir les meilleures idées.” 🎯 Le monde professionnel a un biais : Un biais contre le calme. Un biais contre la profondeur. Un biais contre toi… si tu es introverti. Mais tu sais quoi ? Tu n’as pas besoin de te transformer pour évoluer. Tu n’as pas besoin de “prendre plus de place” pour exister. Tu as juste besoin de changer de stratégie. Pas de personnalité. Et ça, c’est exactement ce que je fais avec mes clients introvertis ambitieux.
