3 reasons why you can "one-shot" a Feature but you can't "one-shot" Marketing... This morning, I received a feature request from a customer. I copied and pasted it into Claude Code in /plan mode and we one-shotted it to production. The response to my customer was 1-line "Great feedback. This is now live:" with a screenshot. This is called "one-shotting." One-Shotting is happening every single moment in Engineering. In fact, most engineers won't be able to tell you the last time they actually wrote code. Here's the big question though... Why isn't One-Shotting happening more in Go-To-Market? 3 reasons... 1) Engineers have Frameworks Engineers have always been obsessed with frameworks. If you plug in Claude Code to your Ruby on Rails application, it is already trained on decades of knowledge on how to implement features the "Rails way." This is why you can describe a feature and pretty much "one-shot" it to production and it'll work just fine. 2) Engineers work with Predictable Outcomes Engineers work in a world of predictable outcomes. Either this feature works, or it doesn't. And its pretty easy to test this, and in fact Claude-code does test this. 3) Engineers have Fast Feedback Loops This is probably the most important. Even before a feature is complete, Claude Code will run a series of commands to see if the code complies, if the tests run, and if the framework accepts the changes. It can analyze the logs to see how it all progresses. Even before it "completes" a task, it does all this and self corrects. SO. By the time an Engineer's request is complete, Claude Code has already self-corrected, validated, and followed a well defined framework. This is why Engineers can one-shot to production all. day. long. Let's compare the same to when it comes to Go-To-Market, Sales and Marketing: 1) No Clear Framework Every Founder, every Marketing Leader, every Sales Leader, they're all following their own bastardized framework (if any). 2) No Predictable Outcomes Do you want Likes? Leads? Revenue? Retention? or Expansion? Which is right? Claude Code doesn't know, and you're not telling it, so it just spits out an answer. 3) No Fast Feedback Loop Is that Homepage Messaging, Value Proposition, and Cold Email copy any good? Who knows? Run a 7-touch cold outbound sequence, a $5K AD campaign, and you'll find out in 3 weeks. Claude Code doesn't know, neither do you, let's find out. This is why AI is absolutely crushing it for Engineers. And this is also why Founders are drunk on GTM AI. So what does that mean for building your GTM in 2026? AI is incredible. In fact, we've built a number of AI tools that helps Founders I work with to build their GTM faster. But you have to set up the right GTM Strategy first.
