GUN TO MY HEAD… if I had to generate 500 new email subs for Katelyn Bourgoin in less than 48 hours, here’s what I’d do: Quick context: Katelyn is one of my favorite LI follows. She's built a 200K+ following across LinkedIn and X, runs the Why We Buy newsletter, and has helped thousands of experts become un-ignorable. I noticed a gap though: She's getting great traction on posts like this (see screenshot) — but she's not turning these proven ideas into assets that can grow her email list on autopilot. So, here's how I'd turn her "ownable idea" post into a viral-worthy lead magnet: I would turn this post into a mini-course called The Ownable Idea Playbook. Inside, I'd include: - A breakdown of all 5 ownable idea types — with a name, definition, and 3 real-world examples for each - A "kill criteria" checklist — the exact questions Katelyn uses to eliminate good ideas and commit to the great one - 10 real examples of experts who nailed their central argument (and what made it stick) - A custom GPT designed to help readers find their own ownable idea Basically: A full playbook to stop overcomplicating your positioning and finally commit to the one idea with the most potential to build an Unignorable Brand. And who would want this? Coaches, consultants, and expert-based business owners who feel like they have too many good ideas — and can't figure out which one to build their brand around. Which just happens to be... Katelyn's entire market. Now, here's how this becomes a list-building engine: Katelyn could do a LinkedIn giveaway post offering free access to the mini-course to anyone who comments "ownable." Then, she (or her assistant) could DM every commenter a link to a landing page to download it. Every download = a new email subscriber AND a potential prospect for her new coaching offer. All without spending a dime on ads or wasting weeks building a complicated funnel. And I know this works because I personally use this exact approach to generate 1,000–1,500 organic email subs per month for myself! Anyway, hope this is helpful!
